Pollution

Toxic pollution affects more than 200 million people worldwide, according to Pure Earth, a non-profit environmental organization. In some of the world’s worst polluted places, babies are born with birth defects, children have lost 30 to 40 IQ points, and life expectancy may be as low as 45 years because of cancers and other diseases.

Land can become polluted by household garbage and by industrial waste. In 2010, Americans produced about 250 million tons (226.8 million kilograms) of garbage, consisting of product packaging, chlorinated hydrocarbons (CFH), heavy metals (such as chromium, cadmium–found in rechargeable batteries, and lead–found in lead paint, aviation fuel and still in some countries, gasoline), MTBE, zinc, arsenic and benzene. In 2001 a series of press reports culminating in a book called Fateful Harvest unveiled a widespread practice of recycling industrial byproducts into fertilizer, resulting in the contamination of the soil with various metals. Ordinary municipal landfills are the source of many chemical substances entering the soil environment (and often groundwater), emanating from the wide variety of refuse accepted.

Enough is enough! When will we stop killing ourselves???!!!!

Terrorism

There are people who want to kill me, my family, my beliefs; simply because I’m an American. This scares the hell out of me!

Those who try to destroy civilization as I know it, to spread their ideals by killing and maiming innocent people, are as sick and depraved as I can imagine. Constructing the concept of terrorism as a weapon to be exploited as a plague spread by opponents of western civilization itself is a return to barbarism in the modern age.

This is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any State.

An attempt to destroy the way I live my life and what I believe in is repugnant, my painting emulates this.

STOP

Prejudice is prejudgment or forming an opinion before becoming aware of the relevant facts of a case. Discrimination is action that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice. Bigotry is a state of mind where a person views other groups with fear, distrust, prejudice or hatred solely on the basis of ethnicity, race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or other group characteristics. Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between people.

It’s important we understand what we are and aren’t in order to give these issues the proper context they deserve. If we aren’t honest with what we are, how can we begin to go where we need to? I will begin.

Climate

Change

Our earth is Warming. Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree on the basic science of climate change, and we've been hearing their warnings for years.

Human-caused global warming is melting the huge ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica, driving sea levels higher around the world. Rising sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern Seaboard, especially in Florida and in other areas such as the Gulf of Mexico.

Many places around the world have seen changes in rainfall, resulting in more floods, droughts or Severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages and increase the risk of wildfires in the American West.

We aren’t facing the end of the world as envisaged by many environmentalists in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but if we do nothing to mitigate climate change then billions of people will suffer.
